Hair Chopped!

I FINALLY took her in to get her hair cut off. It was a long time coming. The ends had become so stragly and thin that I knew this amount of hair needed to come off in order to get it back to looking healthy. It turned out so cute! I really do love it and it looks thicker and healthier. Alexis says she still looks like Rapunzel at the end of the movie when she gets her hair cut off! Oh thank goodness!

Big Girl!

She insists on brushing her own teeth, which I'm happy about. I like that she is wanting to be more independent and do things on her own. But at the same time, I know she isn't brushing them as good as I would. It's become a problem.

Every day I let her brush her own teeth for a couple minutes but then I come and "clean what she missed" and she cries, loudly! She gets so upset with me.

I hate brushing teeth time.

Photography Class

For Christmas Cory got me a photography class with a local photographer. I was really excited!

The class was an all day event. First half was "class-room" style and the second half (my favorite) was shooting some models! It was fun!

I didn't feel comfortable posting pictures of the models, since I didn't ask for their permission, so I'm posting this picture of a Starburst that I shot. All the students were trying out all the different lenses she had. I got the 16-35mm Ultra Wide lens. It was difficult to get and pictures of the models with this lens so I started shooting other things.

I loved this one.

Father-Daughter Time

I love watching Cory have father-daughter time with Alexis. I remember having those moments with my dad when I was a little girl and they are some of my favorite memories. I'm so happy that my own daughter will have those same memories! =)

{Family Movie Night} Tangled

We've only seen this movie a gazillion times. Alexis knows it word for word. But I decided to make it one of our weekly movie nights.

20 Months Old!

20 MONTHS OLD!!!

I can't believe in 4 months this boy is going to be 2. So unreal.

T-Ball

Paxton got this T-Ball set from his Uncle Lee for Christmas.

We were excited to finally pull it out of the box and play with it.

Paxton found it easier to hit the ball with the handle of the bat! Ha!

Princess Make-Up!

"Look mommy! I put make-up on and now I look like a real Princess!"

Park...again...

After daddy got off work we headed straight to the park to enjoy another 50 degree afternoon!

I'm loving this weather! A snow storm is supposed to be hitting sometime next week so I'm trying to soak up as much of the sunshine as possible!

Mondays...

This is how I end my Mondays...

A glass of wine and The Bachelor!

{Family Movie Night} Fantastic Mr. Fox

WARNING: This is NOT a kids movie!

I should have looked more into this movie before making it one of our movie nights, oops!

After 20 minutes we turned it off. It was not kid appropriate.

In all honesty, it wasn't a good movie in general.

Bummer!

Bath Time!

Seamless Paper Backdrops

I have paid mega bucks on vinyl backdrops only to be really disappointed when they'd get a crease or wrinkle in them and I can't get them out. They were so heavy and took forever to get set up and I was never happy with the results and always had to spend extra time in post processing trying to remove all the creases! Ugh! I was over it and was determined to find another option!

I researched and researched hundreds and hundreds of reviews and I found the seamless paper backdrops! They sounded simple and CHEAP! So I ordered 2 rolls from B&H Photo.

I LOVE them...to say the least!
If you're on the fence about trying these backdrops, go for it! You won't regret it!

Here are some of the pictures I got on the backdrop called "bone"

I love how they turned out!

All of these were taken using natural light

=)

Lexi-Lou

A few snaps of my Lexi-Lou =)

50 Degrees in January?

I could not believe that it was 50 degrees in January! After a few weeks of being in the negative temps this was super exciting! We wasted no time and wanted to take full advantage. We spent the entire morning at the park.

Thin - Wispy Hair

Her hair is so thin and wispy and it's formed into this rat-tail looking mess. It's so uneven all over.

So I've made the decision that we're going to cut it short, really short.

I love her long hair and I have to mentally prepare myself (how ridiculous am I?)

But I'm hoping that once it's evened up that it will all grow at one length and hopefully will be long again one day.

Beautiful

Paxton was napping and Alexis begged me to go outside and play in the backyard.

Because I'm a mean mom I told her "We can go outside and play if you let me take some pictures of you first!" It worked!

She told me I could only take 2 pictures! So here's what I got...

As promised I let her run and play in the backyard...

We played back there for hours! We had a fun time together!
