Spring Break : Day 3

Day : 3

I took the kids to Spring Canyon Park in Fort Collins

They LOVE this park! Alexis is always begging me to take her to the "big yellow park" and today was her day! I swung by McDonalds first and got the kids some happy meals and then we were off to the park. We spent 3 whole hours there!

In all honesty, I hate going to the park. I get bored. Really bored. I like playing with my kids, but there is only so many times I can push a swing and go down a slide. Ya know?

But today was so different. I was having such a great time with them and watching their faces light up as they went to the next slide or swing that I completely lost track of time.

Today was one of my most favorite days.

Spring Break : Day 2

Day : 2

I took the kids to the Children's Museum in Denver.

We got there right as they were opening and were one of the first ones there. I figured it was going to be a slow day and so I let the kids take their time at each station. Boy was I wrong. I didn't realize that it was Denver's spring break too and so everyone...and I mean EVERYONE who lives in Denver was there. The place got so crowded it became not fun at all anymore. I tried sticking it out (it's not a cheap place so I wanted to get my money's worth!) but the constant battle of trying to get through the crowd of people to get onto the next station got exhausting. We ended up staying all the way until lunch time. I packed us all a lunch. I tried finding a place for us to sit and eat and there was nothing. SO we ended up finding a table outside. Yes, we ate our lunch wearing our winter coats while it was lightly snowing outside. Ugh...

Both kids napped the whole drive home. Now that's success!

Spring Break : Day 1

This is Alexis' SPRING BREAK week!
I decided I would plan a fun event on each day so that we didn't fall into a trap of being bored and lazy.

Day 1: Chuck E. Cheese

This was Paxton's first time! Alexis hasn't been in a few years so it was like it was her first time as well.
Paxton hated ALL of the rides and refused to get on any of them. He did like the games though. Alexis loved the whole entire thing. She was very upset when it was time to leave and begged me to bring her back the next day. Poor girl.

All-in-all it was a fantastic day! I enjoyed being out doing something fun with my kiddos.

Golden Birthday

I'm 26 on the 26th! My GOLDEN Birthday!

My day was perfect.
It started out by taking Alexis to school. While she was at school I took a shower and got ready. Cory watched Paxton. It was peaceful. We picked Alexis up from school and went to Olive Garden for lunch, delicious, as always. We came home and put Pax down for a nap and I headed off to Victoria Secret to spend my gift card (thanks mom and dad!) I was able to buy 2 new bras! Wahoo! Cory got me a chocolate birthday cake and my 2 lil lovebugs sang to me!

We celebrated a couple of days later with my brother and future sis-in-law. We went to a bar and grill and ate way too much food and had way too many drinks. =) It was a great time.
I even won free tickets to a hockey game!

So sweet!

A father-daughter afternoon nap!

Golden Hour

I took the kids out for some golden hour pictures!

I love my boy.

A boy is dirt
and blue jeans
with mischief
in his eyes.

He leaves behind
a trail of dirt
no matter how
he tries.

And at the end
of every day,
he still can run
and shout.

When he should
be TIRED and
sleeping, it's
MOM who's all
worn out!

I love my boy.
